I more than make up for any time I have to ask for to take my Mother to appointments, or support my son, and I think many carers do likewise. Because of the consideration, I make sure I always meet my deadlines, even if I work extra of an evening. It can sometimes be colleagues who will criticise, but do not see the extra hours I do also. Sometimes, in the past, I have found that management might be flexible, but often colleagues criticise unless they see me working extra and above and beyond, so I work long hours often in gratitude of the flexibility.
